Austria has declared that it is expelling four Russian diplomats for “acting in a manner inconsistent with their diplomatic position.”
The country’s international ministry did not elaborate on the causes behind the determination but the language made use of is reminiscent of previous conditions of suspected espionage.
“Two diplomats at the Russian embassy have acted in a way inconsistent with their diplomatic status,” the ministry reported in an official statement.
“They ended up consequently declared unwelcome people (personae non gratae) in accordance with Posting 9 of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.”
